Experience
I tutored a third grade student who was an ELL migrant workers child. Working with her was so beneficial because it not only reinforced the idea that all children learn differently but also that learning is such a personal experience and should be promoted and capitalized upon with the use of tutors and aid. I am also currently working with middle and high school students from New Castle, Pa schools for a class I am taking, "reading in the content area". With my secondary education minor I have had various education courses teaching me to construct and conduct a lesson plan on a classroom and individual level with various adaption options. In addition I am an officer of my college's history club and have taken my research to conferences and have won my panel for the national history honors society. For my English side I have written and directed a play for my high school, an adaption of "A soldiers heart" as well as working at Barnes and Noble the entirety of my sophomore school year.
